Shipping to Zimbabwe is a long process, not necessarily in the time it takes your parcel to get there, but the time it takes you shipment to physically get to your recipient.  To help mitigate the hold ups that occur when shipping there, you will want to make sure all of your appropriate paperwork is filled out and affixed to your package.  This should help the process, but it will not  solve the delays altogether so factor that in when deciding what to send there so there are no surprises. 

Security concerns when shipping to Zimbabwe

There is a high amount of political unrest in Zimbabwe which affects all aspects of their cultures, including the security of your shipments there.  Activists use political and social intimidation to slow workers, both on the government level and in the private sector when making a point or trying to sway the government in one direction or another.  This means that you can, and most likely will, see heavy delays in your delivery time.  This could be from a painfully slow Customs processing time or from the delivery companies on the ground going on strike as a tool for some political activists groups.  Regardless of the reason, it is unlikely that your intended recipient will get their parcel in a timely manner so matter what you try to do. 

Preparing your shipment to Zimbabwe

Before you ship anything to Zimbabwe, you will want to make sure you have checked with their Customs department for the most up to date prohobited list and restricted list.  This will tell you if you items are allowed into the country.  You should also check for the documents you will need to have filled out with your shipment to make sure you have that all in order.  Your shipping company will be able to give you advice on how to package your items if you have any questions in this regard.
