Tracking your shipping to Korea (North)

No matter how you choose to ship your items to the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea, you will want to get a tracking number associated with your goods.  This will help you to know where your items are while they make their way to the country, as well as alert you if there are any snags along the way such as a hold up in the Custom's department.

Required documents when shipping to Korea (North)

You will need to have a Customs Declaration form filled out when shipping anything to the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea.  This form will state a monetary value of your items and will be used to assess whether their Customs department will want a duty to be paid on your shipment before it can be delivered.  You should also include the original commercial invoice in your shipment if applicable for your particular shipment.  Also keep in mind that additional documentation may be required for certain items being shipped there, such as plant products.

Shipping limitations to Korea (North)

You should routinely check a country's web site or with your shipping company for an up to date prohibition list before you ship there, and shipping to the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea is no exception.  Currently there list has only a handful of items that you are not allowed to ship there.  This list includes counterfeit postage stamps, documents or books that are seen as contrary to public safety, firearms for military use, and salt among a few other items.  In addition to the items on the prohibited list, there are several other items, such as coins and currency, that you are restricted when shipping there.  For these items you must follow strict guidelines on the quantity or other specification such as the originating country and often times get additional paperwork to send along with your package.
